SCS Respect Life Family Ministry focuses on dignity of human life and the protection of all life from conception to natural death including focusing on Catholic teachings related to the unborn, the chronically ill & dying, religious freedom and respect for all life through many service projects, prayer services and conversation. Here at Saint Catherine of Sienna Parish this ministry works with others in reaching out and providing information including the Diocese of Rockville Centre and other local organizations. A few highlights:

• Annual Baby Bottle Campaign: the ministry supports women and the work of local organizations providing assistance to young and unwed pregnant women with their needs of baby blankets, clothes and basic baby supplies.

• National Night of Prayer for Life: in cooperation with the thousands participating across the U.S.A. on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception with praying of the Rosary, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and songs of praise following a Mass. Participants are encouraged to bring baby gifts and supplies for unwed mothers in need.

• Rosary for Life: Periodic gathering and prayer to show support of the unborn at local Planned Parenthood facilities.

• SCS Respect Life Family Meetings: shares news, resources and pray for the respect of all life.

• Project Rachel: encourages women who have had an abortion to seek guidance and hope through the Diocese of Rockville Centre program.

• Gianna Center: supports women in need of obstetric and gynecological care through a special health and wellness program for woman offered through the Diocese of Rockville Centre in which all referrals and work is done with confidentiality.
